...people hear Republicans say "State's Rights" and think there's an inconsistency with the Republican Party of the Civil War when in fact, there isn't. Problem is, the people who claim there is an inconsistency don't look any further than slogans. They don't look at the details.

The main issue as far as "State's Rights" is concerned in the Civil War is nullification. The "State's Rights" debate today centers around the tenth ammendment:

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Catfish, don't be shy. Try convincing me how I'd be happier having yet another deduction from my paycheck for union membership.
