1. Really big company
2. BU I’d be in was gained in an M&A
3. Contract I’ll be working was inked in October
4. Team I’m working with was assembled by one person hired six months ago who assembled her own team from previous gigs, and none of them knew me before we started
5. My manager in the HR system is one of the older guard

And on and on.

Jesus Aitch Christ.

I was told in mid January they’d be at a decision in two weeks with a start date two weeks past that. I’d say we’ve slipped.

I’m not bitter. I’ve had all manner of shit to do around this house that my wife couldn’t do in my absence and if they’d moved that quick I’d have had to lean on area friends and pay thru the nose for help moving.

All going like it should so far but I really just want to get back in the workforce.

“Don’t overplay. Don’t overplay. Less is more. It will always be: less is more. Nobody is ever going to remember all those fancy solos - even the guys that play them, most of them won’t remember - so play some licks that people can walk away humming, that people can identify with." --Steve Cropper
