1) Use real computers.
2) Tell the kid to get over it, what a computer displays is just its database record, it is no bearing on your identity as a person.
3) Shouldn't be an issue, when you update the record in the directory all systems should update when that user next logs in. Would only be an issue if they logged in to a system that wasn't currently network connected and thus couldn't update. Of course I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure.
