I have a few projects at work that have necessitated me to learn a bit of Data Wrangling, Data Warehousing, and a lot of Power Query, and I'm finding I quite like the subject. In contrast to programming, which is more of a creative activity, this is about finding and elucidating patterns. And I really get a kick out of structuring and cleaning up data, oddly.

My motivation is also partly because I don't want to get left behind. SharePoint is being made irrelevant by the proliferation of SaaS, and hardly anyone wants a "website" any more. I think big data and, by extension, machine learning, is where I want to go with my next career move.

Incidentally, I would kill to have a project manager over here. I have so many overlapping projects that sometimes I just do one thing all day so as to avoid having to deal with the rest.

    Paul imparted these words:
I took three business analysis classes recently via Pluralsight (fuck me is that dull), but am switching gears and getting my PMP at last.

I don’t know if I want to do IT at the project level much longer, but PMP is a helluva general cert
