I ask because I'm thinking about this topic tonight, and also I don't think it's been brought up here before, even though all the forum regulars are men.

It's an important question precisely because it doesn't have a pat answer. Because masculinity is not well-defined; we receive a lot of different messages from society and pop culture about this, but it's not a one-size-fits-all concept. I think there are a lot of different forms of masculinity in truth, but likely we all think there's a singular definition, one that we assembled from a variety of off-hand comments and anecdotes from older men and father figures.
