My impression was it had more to do with the media coverage.....

The following month, The Washington Post reported that the C.I.A.’s conclusions relied on “sourcing deep inside the Russian government.” And The New York Times later published articles disclosing details about the source.

IIRC the coverage of the Russia investigation was pretty intense and virtually everything leaked before the Report came out, so I can believe that had something to do with it.

It's probably both, I dunno. But taking closed-door meetings with Putin definitely looks suspicious, given the context. Not to mention all the winking he does in public.

My initial thought is that Shithole definitely gets an erection from throwing intelligence secrets around, and that in light of his craven shittiness towards the intelligence community he should not be trusted with real information.

My second thought is that I know Obama did it first, but man he really shouldn't have.

Edit: my final thought is that we don't know if any of this is true, anyway, since it's supposedly soooper-secret shit they're reporting on. It could reasonably be a disinformation campaign by the CIA itself. Wouldn't that conceivably be one way to confuse or distract the Russians?

    Paul scribbled on a napkin:
If you know anything about this guy--definitely no hack--this is some alarming stuff.
