2016 Toyota wife had aftermarket seat heaters installed by the dealer at purchase because she didn't want to upgrade to a higher trim package just to get the one feature she cared about. I think the sales guy cut her a "deal" for heated seats for an additional $400 or something like that.
I know they are aftermarket because OEM controls would be in the center console...
Instead, there's a three way rocker on the side of each front seat. As of two days ago, only the "low" setting works for drivers side.
There's an LED indicator for each setting: green for low, amber for high, no light when in the middle (off) position.. on the drivers side the amber light won't come on when in the high position and no heat at all. Low position works normally.
I know the electrics for these can be kind of complex. If it was a fuse I'd expect neither setting to work.
My hope is that an inexpensive 3-way rocker switch repairs the problem, but I may be completely wrong.
Any thoughts?
