Some student started circulating a petition online calling for the semester to be ended now. They are whining that even though we are doing all remote classes to keep students safe that classes require "emotional labor" and that it is "unreasonable to expect students to still be productive in a time of crisis."

I think they believe that if we ended the semester, they'd just get to fuck-off but still get credit for everything. Ya. No. If we cancel the semester, you don't get credit, you have to redo it. All of it. A friend said some law students started circulating it and then the dean told them that if the law school does that, they won't be able to take the bar since they won't have enough credit. Suddenly they stopped circulating it.
