I think I may get some milder pickups at some point. The Texas Specials are great cranked, but are really hot and super noisy at full tilt. Nice that they’re easily modulated with the volume knob, but the tone roll off is really pronounced and early. Sucks the life out of it at a quarter turn.

Running in serial helps noise but then you lose a lot of the character. It’s just such a great guitar though. Running the neck pickup like he’s doing here... really buttery, and in the bridge, the complete opposite, almost piercing, unmistakable sound. Middle spot is its own thing too.
