...I didn't pay much attention to Herman when he ran for office, but most of the highlights I saw of him from Fox News spots and the like were seemingly the usual right-wing talking points.

And to be completely honest, I think it's very telling that the Republican party has had black candidates participate but have yet to actually have a black person elected to the office.

Maybe they could put their votes where their mouths are instead of just having "token" candidates. IMHO.
