If I had to summarize, I'd say it's great for anything you want to be tender.

We have found a few things that don't work too well though:

- Some soups / chili - they don't boil down and thicken due to the lid
- Any meat you want to brown - things like roasts and pulled pork turn out great, but if you do ribs or chicken you'll want to finish them outside of the pot

When we bought ours, my wife's facebook friends had led us to believe it was a magic meal making machine which we could use to cook every meal in a single pot, but that wasn't really the case for us. We've found it to be a useful tool, but not suited for everything.
